The Royal Albatross Colony, is a 45 minute drive by car down the Peninsula with the Penguins & seals etc.

There is also the Fort Taiaroa Disappearing Gun if you have a military/mechanical bent.

Another way to see the wildlife is on the Monarch Wildlife Cruise or up close & personal with Wild Earth sea-kayaking

There is also the Sports Hall of Fame in the Railway Station [ www.nzhalloffame.co.nz ] and an excellent Otago Museum with a top-rate Maori display [ www.otagomuseum.govt.nz ]

Dunedin is also home to many of New Zealand top fashion designers Tania Carlson, NomD, etc etc, plus there are things like surfing at St Clair, one of the best surf beaches in New Zealand, and where a lot of the All Blacks surf in their spare time.
